Hardway Support Center: Fulfillment, Amazon Prep, Sourcing, and Logistics FAQs

Everything You Need to Know About Our Fulfillment, Sourcing, Amazon Operations, and Support.
Have questions? You're in the right place — we’ve answered the most common questions about our ecommerce logistics services below.

  • We work with a global network of vetted suppliers and manufacturers across the U.S., China, Europe, and more. Every supplier goes through background checks, product sampling, and quality inspections to ensure reliability and compliance. Whether you're sourcing eco-friendly items, private label products, or need specific certifications like FDA, CE, or FCC, we’ve got you covered.

We handle everything from negotiating pricing and MOQs to managing long-term supplier relationships and product reorders. Depending on your product and region, sourcing typically takes 1–4 weeks, including sample approvals and negotiations. Our team ensures quality, transparency, and full alignment with your brand goals — including custom packaging, labeling, and sustainable options.

  • We provide full-service ecommerce fulfillment — including inventory storage, order processing, packaging, shipping, returns, and even dropshipping. Our system integrates with major platforms like Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, Walmart Marketplace, and Etsy. We ship using trusted carriers like USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and international freight services.

Most orders are fulfilled within 24–48 hours, and we support global shipping for cross-border logistics. You can also customize your packaging with branded boxes, inserts, and labels. If an order is lost or delayed, we assist with tracking, file claims with carriers, and reship if needed. We also manage returns and refunds based on your policies. Pricing depends on your specific storage, volume, and shipping needs — but we keep everything transparent and competitive.

    1. Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) means Amazon stores, packs, ships, and manages returns for your products. This can increase your chances of winning the Buy Box thanks to fast Prime shipping. However, FBA comes with strict prep requirements (like barcode placement and poly-bagging), storage limits, and fees based on product size and storage duration — especially during high-demand seasons.

In contrast, Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM) means you handle shipping yourself or through a third-party logistics (3PL) provider. FBM offers more control over inventory and lower costs in some cases, and you can still apply for Seller-Fulfilled Prime (SFP) to maintain Prime shipping eligibility.

Amazon also uses the Inventory Performance Index (IPI) to measure how well you manage stock. A low IPI can limit your storage space in FBA. If you want to sell beyond Amazon, you can use Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF), which lets you fulfill non-Amazon orders using FBA warehouses — though fees are often higher than with traditional 3PLs.

  • Hardway Enterprises is an ecommerce logistics and fulfillment company specializing in sourcing, prepping, and shipping products for sellers on platforms like Amazon (FBA), Walmart (WFS), and Shopify. We offer fully managed solutions — including product procurement, shipping coordination, and prep services — working with over 60 trusted suppliers.

While our systems are highly automated, this is not a passive business. Depending on the platform and method used, most clients spend between 3–12 hours per month overseeing their store. Startup costs vary based on whether you're launching with FBA, WFS, or custom sourcing — which we’ll break down in your onboarding call.

Clients typically see ROI between 10–30% depending on fulfillment model and sales strategy.

  • Running out of stock can hurt your Amazon metrics, but how you handle it matters. If you receive an order and the product isn’t available, there are three possible approaches:

    1. Cancel Immediately – This triggers a pre-fulfillment cancellation penalty from Amazon, which harms your account performance.

    2. Ship an Incorrect Item – This avoids the cancellation penalty but results in costly returns, unhappy customers, and poor reviews.

    3. Cancel on Day 8 – Waiting until the 8th day after the order was placed allows you to cancel without it counting against your pre-fulfillment cancellation rate.

Option 3 is usually the safest route when restocking isn’t possible in time. Following this approach helps protect your Amazon fulfillment metrics while minimizing damage to your account standing.

  • Amazon sees return rates between 13–20% across most ecommerce categories — and while returns are common, fraud is a growing issue. An estimated 7% of returns involve fraud, including partial returns (where only part of the order is sent back), false non-delivery claims, and item swaps where used or unrelated items are returned in place of the original.

Unfortunately, due to Amazon’s customer-first return policies, fulfillment centers cannot prevent return fraud directly. However, when suspicious activity is identified, sellers can file a dispute with Amazon to attempt a refund reversal. While results vary, filing disputes is the only path for recourse in fraudulent cases.
